Peggy Purdy

Peggy PurdyPeggy Brown Purdy has served as our church pianist since 1978. She grew up at Concord, the daughter of Carroll and Nellie Brown, and is following in the footsteps of her late grandmother, Kate S. Brown who also served as Concord’s pianist for many years. Peggy earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Winthrop College and also completed her Master of Arts in Music Education from Furman University. During her tenure at Concord she has served as the director of several children’s choirs, children’s hand bells, youth choir, and is also plays with the adult hand bells. She is married to Thomas L. Purdy. They have two children, Jamie P. Hamrick and her husband, Travis (who live in Marietta, Ga.) and a son, Chris Purdy who will be marrying Lindsey Cooper at Concord in September 2007.
