Rev. Bill Parnell

Bill ParnellWhat drives someone to 30+ years in Youth Ministry? A call from God and a love to see teens grow in their walk with the Lord. As 3 John says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the Truth.” (vs 4) When I see teens leading their campus ministry groups, see them on stage leading their own peers or praying with friends at the altar on Wednesday nights, seeing them ministering on mission trips and in our own local missions each week, knowing their desires to become more effective leaders, having them come to me asking to hold a prayer lock in or wanting to lead a D-Now for the younger students, or hearing them want to discuss what they have been reading in their Bibles that week, my heart pounds. Doug Fields says you quit being cool when you pass 25 and I passed that long ago, so now I have to surround myself with cool people, but I think I have more passion than ever to point students to a personal relationship with Jesus.

Our Youth Ministry, “Get It, Got It, Give It Away”, doesn’t focus much on teaching kids not to drink or smoke, etc. We concentrate on loving Jesus and spending time with Him each day and then sharing that love with others. When we do that the other things will take care of themselves.

For any teens who want to grow closer to Jesus and experience that growth in the midst of a large group of the coolest teens anywhere, come be a part of the Youth Ministry at Concord. We’ve Got It, and we are ready to Give It Away.

Get It……Got It……Give It Away

“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
