TRUE: WEEK 2

Andrew Barnes

IT'S SUNDAY!! I love Sundays for multiple reasons, but one of the primary ones is that I have the opportunity to see so many of you guys! I'm stoked.

Be excited for another reason as well. You have made it to the last day of the reading for the fourth week of our SOAPs in our WE ARE... series. So, today I am going to give you another opportunity, like yesterday, to work it all out on your own.

Scripture: Read with me Proverbs 15 today.

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage written by Solomon? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done?

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life?

Prayer: Don't forget to pray. Pray a whole lot. Pray for Dr. Cox as he will be preaching a few times today. Pray that the Word of the Lord changes lives. Pray that people will come to have a relationship with Jesus today, both here in Anderson and all over the world. Pray that we will learn something today. Pray that the Lord will open our eyes and hearts to things we might have hear hundreds of times before.

TRUE: WEEK 2

Andrew Barnes

Remember, for our Saturdays and Sundays we are going to continue with what we have worked through the past few Bible reading plans that we have gone through, which utilizes the Psalms and the Proverbs. They will still pertain with what we have spoken of on the previous Wednesday. We will read through a Psalm on Saturday, and on Sunday we will read through a Proverb.

So, let's do it! Remember SOAP.

Scripture: Read through Psalm 19 with me, and pay careful attention to David's words.

Observation: Make sure we take notice of David's words. What is David experiencing? Could always have been easy and fun to be king? Make sure we notice David's emotions? Make sure that we see if David let's his emotions get the best of him? Make sure we notice what he is asking of God? What is it that David truly wants more than anything else?

Application: Where is your praise at? In the good times? In the bad times? In the easy times? In the hard times? Who are we crying out to?

Pray: Pray for tomorrow? The answer is yes. Pray for today. Pray for Dr. Cox as he is going to preach. Pray for our hearts to be open, willing to learn and listen, willing to be convicted if needed. Pray for those who need to hear the gospel. Pray for our remembrance of our need of God. Pray, pray, pray.

TRUE: WEEK 2

Andrew Barnes

GOOD MORNING!! I hope that today is going well for you so far. I know that it might have been a struggle so far to wake up and get moving, but you can do it!!

This is the last week of our TRUE series, and I hope you are completely stoked about it!! Today we are going to be digging into the book of DEUTERONOMY. Moses wrote this book thousands of years ago. However, do not let this dissuade you into thinking it is unimportant for you and me today.

Scripture: Read through DEUTERONOMY 6 with me today.

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage written by Moses? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done?

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life?

Prayer: Hey guys! Take this time to pray. Pray, pray, pray. Remember how it is an honor and a privilege to take the opportunity to commune with the Creator, Ruler, and Savior of us.

TRUE: WEEK 2

Andrew Barnes

I hope you guys are awake and moving this morning. Only one more day in the school week after today. You guys can do it for sure. We are praying for you as the school year finishes up.

We loved having you guys at our LAST for the school year Gathering last night, and if you missed it, then know that we truly missed you. Make sure you sign up for our Gravitopia All-Nighter here.

Last night you heard from Chayne and Jennifer Wells. You heard a bit from their personal stories, and you heard what their story became when they started dating up until this point. That point being having been married for ten years, and they have two amazing children. You also had some Q and A time with them and with Kimberly and Andrew to finish the night up.

Scripture: Take some time this morning, or for some of you guys maybe this evening, and read through Ephesians 4 today.

Observation: So Ephesians 4 is not a short quick chapter, that some of the epistles' chapters are. So, make sure you take some time reading through this passage today, and focus through all of it. Make sure we notice the very beginning of the chapter. We are told some things that we have to confess and believe in as Christians: one church, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptist, one God and Father. Make sure we notice the importance of GRACE. Make sure we notice that the chapter continues and it talks about what salvation looks like. Make sure we notice that there should be a visible difference in people after salvation. They should put off the old self, and they should put off the new self. Make sure we notice and spend time MEMORIZING v.32.

Application: Make this personal. Do not just flit with surface level depth, but rather dig deep. Ask yourself the hard questions. Where is our faith? How are we viewing people? What do we believe are essential beliefs in Christianity? Are we quick to love people? Are we quick to forgive people? Are we quick to be kind to everyone?

Pray: Pick one person to pray for today. Maybe it is a friend. Maybe it is a family member. Pray for them throughout the entire day.

TRUE: WEEK 2

Andrew Barnes

HE GATHERING IS TONIGHT @ 6:45! You do not want to miss out, so come hang out with us, play some games, participate in some sweet worship, and finish up our TRUE series with us.

Take some time with me today reading, thinking through Scripture, applying it to our lives, and praying. Remember S O A P.

Scripture: Read with me Hebrews 10  today.

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done? Make sure we notice the importance of Jesus' sacrifice. Make sure we notice how it correlates with the old sacrificial system in Judaism. Make sure we notice that it ends the sacrificial system. It is Jesus or nothing. Make sure that we notice the phrase "full assurance of faith" in Hebrews 10:22. Make sure we see what good godly relationships do in v. 24 & 25. Make sure we notice the importance of persevering in the faith.

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life? Are we living as people who know they have been saved by Jesus? Are we living out relationships that truly glorify God? Are we living out relationships that push one another on to live lives that are for Jesus?

Prayer: Don't forget to pray. Pray a whole lot. Pray for your pastors.

Scripture: Read through John 15 with me today.

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage written by John? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done?

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life?

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage written by Paul? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done? Make sure we notice where the emphasis is placed. Is the emphasis placed on love? What is love truly? Is love just some emotion? How does this passage actually teach us what love is?

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life? Look at the relationships in your life. Look at the relationships you have with your family. Look at those relationships, and now ask yourself if you are truly loving. Prayer: Don't forget to pray. Pray a whole lot. Pray that the Word of the Lord changes lives. Pray that people will come to have a relationship with Jesus today, both here in Anderson and all over the world. Pray that we will learn something today. Pray that the Lord will open our eyes and hearts to things we might have heard hundreds of times before.

They will still pertain with what we have spoken of on the previous Wednesday. We will read through a Psalm on Saturday, and on Sunday we will read through a Proverb.

So, let's do it! Remember SOAP.

Scripture: Read through Psalm 18 with me, and pay careful attention to David's words.

Make sure we notice how on this rough point in his life how he starts out. "I love you, O Lord, my strength."

Application: Where is your praise at? In the good times? In the bad times? In the easy times? In the hard times? Who are we crying out to? What are we seeking in the good times: praise, adoration, fulfillment? What do we seek out in the bad times: addictions, people, sin, our thoughts? Think about not what we should see out, but rather who, always.

Pray: Pray for tomorrow? The answer is yes. Pray for today. Pray for Dr. Cox as he is going to preach. Pray for our hearts to be open, willing to learn and listen, willing to be convicted if needed. Scripture: Take some time this morning, or for some of you guys maybe this evening, and read through Hebrews 11 today.

Observation: Take and make sure we notice that massive word used throughout the entire chapter. This is a sweet chapter. IT goes through the "hall of faith." You might be thinking, "Andrew, what does this have to do with relationships? What does this have to do with me?" Make sure you notice each of the people spoken of. Make sure you notice how each of them is spoken of. Make sure that you notice how each of them interacted with God. What was their relationship with God like? What was their faith in him like?

Application: Make this personal. Do not just flit with surface level depth, but rather dig deep. Ask yourself the hard questions. What is my relationship with God like at this present moment? AM I just going through the motions? OR am I even a smidgen like these people spoken of in the hall of faith?

Pray: Pick one person to pray for today. Maybe it is a friend. Maybe it is a family member. Pray for them throughout the entire day.
