Day 38: Where Does Your Light Come From?

Andrew Barnes

Read John 7-8

Light, Light is something that we never realize the importance of it, until we do not have it. Ever been sitting there at night, all of a sudden the lights go out, and you are instantly sitting in the dark. That feeling that overcomes yourself is a feeling that is something that everyone knows about, and no matter how old you are, will always remember that feeling.  Unfortunately for those who do not know Christ, that is what their lives may be like at all times.  We have the power of Jesus, the light of salvation, the shinning light of Christ that moves through us when we believe in Christ.

In John 8: 12 it says this, “Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever, follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”” Here we see such promising words coming from Jesus himself. Jesus is where we get our light, because he is the light of the world. There is no such thing as darkness for those who follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. That is something that should be something that we desire, something that we wish on everyone who we come in contact with.

My challenge for you today, is that as you look at your life I want to ask you. Where does your light come from?  Is your light coming from God himself? Or is there something else that is giving you false life? Is there things in your life that you do not need in your life, that is filling the void and giving you a false hope? If that may be the case, I encourage you to talk to someone close to you. You have people here at Concord, who would love to talk to you about that! So I repeat, where does your light come from? I pray that your light comes from the Lord, and I pray that as you continue to grow in your faith, as we all do on a daily basis, that your light and joy will be shown to those around you, so that they can see something different about you. If they see that, maybe that can be the time where you shine Gods light on them, especially if they are in a dark place and need to see the light.

Happy Tuesday!! Remember It’s the best Tuesday of the week!

God Bless!
