Read John 11-12
As you sit here and reflect maybe looking back at your week, you can try and see the good things that God has done for you. At the gathering last night, we heard from some missionaries who had two different backgrounds but in the end because of Jesus coming to save the world, we have a common core. Our everlasting life in him. So often we can get ourselves caught up in things that really don’t matter, or forget to think about things that do, its our human nature. It happens!
I want us to look at the John 12:44-50. Here Jesus is speaking telling us all that he is truly about. Look at Verse 46,” I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” We see here that our savior had one purpose and one purpose only, to bring this dark world, the light that is needed to be able to live in eternity with our savior and creator. Whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. For many of us reading this, we are believers, you could be sitting here saying, “I know I have the light of Jesus in me”. “Jesus came to die on the cross for my sins, I know that.” Many of us, believe but yet still feel sometimes that we are in the dark, and yet God isn’t there.
I want to say one thing to you. He is there, he was with you from the beginning. While we live in this dark world, we are the light for the world. It will feel as if there is nothing good coming out of what we see, and may even feel as if nothing good happens around you. I want to encourage you to continue to bare your cross, and shine the light to the world. We are called to do that, in fact not sharing the love of Christ with others, is disobeying what God has called us to do.
So I want to pose one question for you, as you sit here and think about all God has done for you, how can you not be comforted that he will have your back, that he will keep you from falling, and most importantly that he will love you and call you his own forever? God loves us unconditionally, when we deserve nothing. He is the true super hero!
