There is a good bit of reading today, so go ahead and get a jump start on all of it.
Read 1 Kings 3 and 6-12
Now, I want you to focus on the words of Solomon after he finished the temple for the Lord. He brings the entire congregation of Israel together, and before he sacrifices the 142,000 animals he spends time praying to the Lord.
Read 1 Kings 8:23-24 one more time.
Beast mode to say the least. Solomon not only describes God, but he also differentiates God from the rest of the middle eastern gods of the day. Then he goes on to describe how we as people of God are supposed to be different. How are we truly supposed to look.
Solomon says in the end of verse 23, "to your servants who walk before you with all their heart." Right before this notice that Solomon notes that God keeps his promise, saves, and shows great grace and love to these people. Pretty crazy! What an amazing God that loves us and has grace upon us.
So, let's look at our own lives. What does your life say about you? Are you a person who walks before the Lord with ALL your heart? Or are you an individual who walks before him only on Sundays and Wednesdays? Or are you a person who only walks before the Lord when it is convenient to you? Or are you someone who doesn't walk before him?
