Survey Plan: Day 37

Andrew Barnes

Hey Guys! I hope your week is going well so far. Today we are digging into the minor prophets some more. After this week we will be all through the Old Testament!. Crazy.

Today we are reading through Hosea 1-4 and Joel 2.

And I have a challenge for you: take and read through the entire book of Joel as well. It is only 3 chapters, and it will greatly help put chapter two into perspective.

Also, I have been thinking through this a lot, and I have been thinking through what does it mean to truly be a disciple of Christ (we will talk a little bit more about this @ The Gathering tomorrow night. Be There.), but one verse that has been coming into my mind is from Deuteronomy 11:18, where God tells the people, "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and soul..."

So, as disciples of Christ, who are called to make disciples, then are we doing this. Are we writing his words upon our hearts? Are we etching them on our soul?

As you read today and you think through the verses you read in Hosea and Joel take and think about that. Are you just reading them, or are you memorizing some of them to always keep at the forefront of your mind?
