IT IS DAY 50, WHICH MEANS IT IS ALSO WEEK 8. CRAZINESS. WE ARE ONLY A FEW MORE WEEKS AWAY FROM SURVEYING THE ENTIRE BIBLE. ENJOY THAT.
Go ahead and dig into our last day of reading from the gospels. Read John 13-17 and 19-21.
NOW...ask yourself that same question that same question you asked yourself two days ago: What do I believe about Jesus?
Instead of reading from the first chapter of the book of John take and try to read from the last chapter of John, John 21, with the first chapter in mind.
Look at how Jesus appears to seven of the disciples, but how he specifically looks and speaks to Simon Peter, the man who denied him three times. How does Jesus greet him? He asks them if they have any fish. They didn't even recognize him!
However, this is not the primary point. Rather, look at how Jesus has mercy on and restores Simon Peter. He questions him three times, and he finishes by saying the same words he said to him the first time they met, "Follow me." So, are we following Jesus? Do we follow him no matter what? Do we follow him even when we disappoint him?
