Summer Plan: Day 36

Andrew Barnes

So it is Friday!! I know that is not as exciting to say as it is during the school year, but it is still pretty exciting to think about. Continue to be in prayer for our missions team in Massachusetts, and be in prayer for our student missions team next week in Morganton, NC. We are stoked to be serving the Lord and sharing.

Today we are grabbing onto the Word, and we are back in one of my favorite books of the Bible, Proverbs. Each Proverb has so many good nuggets of truth. They are wonderful to keep at the forefront of our minds.

Read Proverbs 16-18

A good friend of mine in college, who now lives overseas, and I would get together numerous times thoughout the week in the Learning Center UGA's campus. Each time we got together we always talked about what the Lord was teaching us, and almost every time there was always a nugget. These are wonderful morsels of the Word that encourage, make your ponder, push you deeper, wonderful to memorize, and remind you of the gospel.

So, think with me one a morsel today. Read back through Proverbs 18:11.

"A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall his imagination."

Now compare that with the second morsel of today Proverbs 18:10.

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe."

So...what is your "strong tower" or your "strong city?" If it is anything other than the Lord than you are fooling yourself just like the rich man in Proverbs 18:11 is doing.
