If you weren't able to make it out to The Gathering last night we definitely missed seeing you guys, but no worries. We will be at the same time and the same place next week.

However, no matter what we had our second teaching time for our WE ARE... series. WE ARE...Children of God. This is one of those great notions to who we are as Christians. We are the sons and daughters of God. He has adopted us into his family, and it is absolutely awesome.

Scripture: Join me today by taking some time out of your busy day to get away and read through 1 John 3.

Observation: There is so much goodness here. Little nuggets of gold that are right there for us to see, grasp, and know. Make sure we notice how v.1, v. 10, v. 16, and v. 23 are all connected. Make sure we notice that it is because of God's great love for us that we are children of God, and it does not end there. It is because of his great love that we are able to love. Make sure we notice the importance of being pure, being holy, and that all begins with having a relationship with God. Make sure we notice what it means to abide in Christ.

Application: We can ponder a lot here. There is so much that we can put forth to our lives. Are we truly loving our brothers? Are we keeping his commandments? Are we living lives of love toward one another? Are we living lives that are pure and holy? Are we living lives that recognize the privilege of being his sons and daughters?

Pray: Pray today. Pray not just at lunch and dinner, but pray throughout the day. Pray for everything. Have a heart that is praying without ceasing.
