DEVOTIONS

GO!: WEEK 1

Andrew Barnes

SO...HERE WE GO! I hope this cloudy Wednesday morning does not have you too down, because it is GATHERING DAY!!

We are starting off our new series GO! TODAY, and you do not want to miss it. Because of that we are also changing up our weekly devotion reading to match our series as well. So, take and enjoy these next few weeks of reading in our GO! series.

Scripture: Read with me JOHN 10 today.

Observation: What is the primary meaning of this passage written by John? What does this passage teach us about who God is? What does the passage teach us about who we are? What does this passage teach us about what God has done? Take a peak and focus on the differences between the sheep and the unbelieving Jews. Make sure we notice the greatness of God. Make sure we notice how salvation cannot be taken away from us  (v.28-29). Make sure that salvation is a gift, and God is the one who gives us eternal life.

Application: Focus on making it personal. What does this passage mean for you at this specific moment in your life? Are we sheep? Are we people who want to see more people believe in Jesus, or are we actually more like the Jews from John 10 than we want to admit.

Prayer: Don't forget to pray. Pray a whole lot. Pray that the Word of the Lord changes lives. Pray that people will come to have a relationship with Jesus today, both here in Anderson and all over the world. Pray that we will learn something today. Pray that the Lord will open our eyes and hearts to things we might have heard hundreds of times before.
