Church Security & Active Assailant Training

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a Church Security and Active Assailant Training at Concord and other area churches

Basic Church Security Training
For Security Teams or if starting a Church Security Team, this training teaches what a Security Team should focus upon in areas such as parking lots, children and nurseries and offices. In addition, this training will cover the characteristics of suspicious behavior or of someone carrying a gun, as well as what plans a church should have in place for incidents such as an active shooter, missing child and more.

Active Shooter Response Training
The Active Shooter Response Training covers what anyone should do in the event of a shooter and gives options such as how to escape or barricade or how to respond.

Topics covered include:
Taking the shooter down | Hands-On Practical Exercises (take-downs) | Stopping the dying - Trauma First Aid | Blank gun firing for sound reference | Law Enforcement Response

Pajamas with the Pastor

Pajamas  With the Pastor this year will be on Wednesday, December 20th at 6:00 p.m. in the worship center.  Bring your kids in their pajamas for a night of worship a little different than usual.  We will sing some songs and the kids will then join Dr. Cox on the stage to hear a story.  This is a great opportunity to bring a friend or family who you would like to get plugged into church.

We invite you to join us for an imaginative bible-based 6-week study that examines the important truth that we discover as we experience that first Christmas...  God always keeps his promises.  For anyone who finds themselves feeling like its always winter and never Christmas, we often feel distanced from God.  But through this study we find out that we can always trust God's timing.  So, get the Christmas season started early and join Rev. Chase and Ashley Stone as they lead this special Christmas Vineyard Study beginning November 1 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in room SE203.

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

UPWARD BASKETBALL & CHEERLEADING 2017-2018

Our registration is now open for Upward Basketball & Cheerleading.  Simply click here to register.  Once spots for the league are full registration for that age group will shut down and we will not take any more participants.  Information for the league is as follows:

League Information

Kindergarten - Basketball (8 foot goal / 25" ball) & Cheerleading
1st & 2nd Grade - Basketball (8 foot goal / 25" ball) & Cheerleading
3rd & 4th Grade - Basketball (9 foot goal / 28.5" ball) & Cheerleading
5th & 6th Grade - Basketball (10 foot goal / 28.5" ball) & Cheerleading

BASKETBALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND EVALUATIONS
When filling out your registration form we WILL NOT honor both the carpool link and the practice day request, so please choose which is more important to you and mark that one only.

EVALUATION NIGHTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Monday, December 11th
Kindergarten - 5:30 - 6:30
1st & 2nd Grade - 6:45 - 8:00

Tuesday, December 12th
3rd & 4th Grade - 5:30 - 6:45
5th & 6th Grade - 7:00 - 8:15

Cheerleaders may come and try on their uniform at any of the evaluation times.  There is no orientation for you so once you have given us your sizes you are ready to go.

You will be contacted by your coach no later than December 27th and practices will begin the first week of January.  Your child will practice one night a week and all games will be on Saturdays.  The games will start on January 27thand end on March 17th .  Jersey colors this season will be red, black, and white.

Cost for basketball is $60 if you register before November 1st.  After November 1st it goes up to $70.  If you would like the shorts as well they will cost an additional $15.

Cost for cheerleading is $60 if you register before November 1st.  After November 1st it goes up to $70.  If you would like the mock turtleneck as well they it cost an additional $15.

A Celebration of Military Veterans

Patriot Hospice and Concord Baptist Church have teamed up to recognize our Veterans.  Patriot Hospice will conduct a pinning ceremony honoring each individual veteran present.

Join us for a Global Missions Banquet for women and girls, with dinner being provided by Olive Garden, in just a few weeks on September 14, with a special guest speaker, Debbie McDowell. We will be taking the time to think deeper about missions in general, and how it applies to our lives. 

We would love to have you join us in the gym of Concord Baptist Church for an awesome evening where we will be encouraged, challenged, and  strengthened.

Kids New Christian Class

During the Sunday School Hour on Sunday, February 19 and February 26:

This class will be for kids who have started a relationship with God recently.  We will be going over some of the basics like the importance of spending time with God and figuring out age appropriate ways to do that.

If your child has made a decision in the past year or is thinking about becoming a Christian, this would be a great opportunity for them.
