How Do I Join?
Concord is a congregation composed of persons who have give evidence of regeneration by the Holy Spirit, who have confessed Christ in repentance and faith, and who have been baptized by immersion as a sign of inward faith and commitment. Persons presenting themselves for membership must be voted upon by the congregation.
Anyone who desires to become a member of the church must be presented to the congregation either by coming to the front of the auditorium during the invitation time of a worship service or by standing when presented by the pastor at the conclusion of a worship service. Before a person presents himself or herself for membership it is recommended that they attend the Inquirer’s Class. If they are not able to attend, it is recommended that they meet with a minister of the congregation before presenting themselves.
A person can become a member by:
1. Professing faith in Christ and following through in baptism by immersion.
2. By coming through a letter of recommendation from another Baptist Church of like faith and order.
3. By a statement that they have trusted Christ and have been baptized by immersion in another denomination as a sign of their inward trust in Christ through faith alone.
4. By a statement that they have trusted Christ through faith alone in another tradition, and if they were not baptized by immersion as a sign of inward faith, submitting themselves to baptism by immersion in accordance with the faith and order of Concord.
