Rev. Randy Blank
Associate Pastor of Education and Evangelism Randy’s blog
I am originally from Alexandria - Arlington Virginia (a rare person who was born and raised there) in the shadow of the Pentagon, Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Museums, and the Washington Monument to name a few of the more famous landmarks in the area of my home. I am married to my high school sweetheart Judy, and have been happily married 34 years. We have a daughter, Joy and Son-in-law Mark Harrison who live in Pensacola, Florida. They have given us Hampton Richard Harrison, our grand son and will soon (June 2009) be blessing us with a grand daughter. (God is so good!)
I received an audible calling from the Lord (May 24, 1978 at 1:04AM) to follow Him in full-time gospel ministry. Therefore, we left our home in Northern Virginia in May of 1980 and followed the Lord’s calling forging a new beginning for me and my little family coming to Anderson, SC. to complete my education. I worked part-time here at Concord during those days as I studied. I am an alumnus of Anderson College (University), and Furman University. I did about half of my post graduate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (Wake Forest, NC.) and completed a Masters of Christian Education degree at Erskine Theological Seminary. (Due West, SC.) All the while I was on the staff of Concord during those days.
I came back to Concord in August of 2005. My total experience at Concord covers a time of about 20 years. I have served in the areas of Minister of Outreach, Children & Youth Pastor, Family Pastor, Associate Pastor, and today have the responsibilities of Associate Pastor of Education & Evangelism. I have also served Nine Forks Baptist Church in Dacusville, SC. (Northwest Pickens County) and Bethel Baptist Church (Northwest Greenville, SC.) as the Senior Pastor.
I am very much a part of this church because this church is very much a part of me. I love Concord Baptist Church and praise the Lord for bringing me back to this wonderful church and fellowship. I am excited about what the Lord has in store for Concord…I am excited about what the Lord has done in the past, what He is doing in the present, and know by faith He has much in store for us in the Future.
