Scripture, observation, application, prayer

Our desire is to see students grow to be wholehearted followers of Jesus Christ, and for that to happen are committed in helping you through every step of the process. One of the best ways to grow is to open up the Bible, which is the Word of God. God speaks to us through his Word! We highly encourage you to use SOAP in your daily devotional time. SOAP is an acronym for: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer, and while spending time with the Lord every day use a journal. Write down your thoughts and what the Lord is speaking to you through his Word. Journaling is a great way of remembering all the Lord has done for us.

What is the primary meaning of this passage? What is God teaching you about who he is, what he has done, and who we are in this world.

Take your time reading through the daily Scripture, whether it is a chapter or two or a few verses. Allow the Lord to speak through his Word.

Do not forget this part! Pray, pray, pray. Pray before and after your devotional time. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you and teach you. Ask for distraction free time. Listen.
