The Light and the Glory

Leader: Bill Caldwell – Room: SE105 – 12 week study
Materials Cost: $18.00

Did Columbus believe that God called him west to undiscovered lands? Does American democracy owe
its inception to the handful of Pilgrims that settled at Plymouth? If, indeed, there was a specific, divine
call upon this nation, is it still valid today?

The Light and the Glory answers these questions and many more for history buffs. As readers look at their nation’s history from God’s point of view, they will begin to have an idea of how much we owe to a very few–and how much is still at stake. Now revised and expanded for the first time in more than thirty years, The Light and the Glory is poised to show new readers just how special their country is.

Ready to Launch: Jesus-Centered Parenting in a Child-Centered World

Leader: Evan Dickson — Room SE203 – 7 week study
Materials Cost: $10.00

Christian parents are not seeking mere behavior modification in their children but the growth of truly
godly passions. “Training a child up in the way he should go” must be done intentionally, with the mind and heart of God. The Faith Hall of Fame: A Study from Hebrews 11

When we think about a “Hall of Fame” we usually think of men and women who excelled in their area
of expertise. It represents achievements that go beyond simply doing one’s job. In order to receive your place in the Hall of Fame you had to be great. Well, did you know there is a Hall of Fame in the bible? Its members did many amazing things, but it isn’t their greatness that is celebrated…it’s their faith in God. Hebrews 11 gives us a list of those in the Faith Hall of Fame and some of the people listed won’t surprise you. Noah. Abraham. Moses. But, there are others that may catch you off guard. Gideon. Enoch. Even Rahab the prostitute! 16 in all are mentioned, so join us as we take a closer look at these amazing lives and how their faith helped reserve a spot for the in the Faith Hall of Fame.

Thursday Morning 6:00 a.m. Men’s Study
Chase the Lion – Stepping Confidently Into the Unknown

Leader: Earl O’Brien – Room SE102
Materials Cost: $6.00

Chase the Lion is a 6-session Bible study that expands the message of Mark Batterson’s best-selling book “In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day.” Inspired by a fearless warrior named Benaiah (2 Sam. 23:20) who changed the course of his future by winning a battle with a real lion, this study examines biblical and modern-day examples of people who were willing to put everything on the line, take risks, seize opportunities, face fears, embrace uncertainty, and look foolish when it comes to chasing after God-given opportunities. Our current Christian culture doesn’t usually encourage sensible people to chase after risky opportunities and dreams. We want to believe that if it’s a good decision, it will always be and feel safe because that’s the way God wants life to be. But what if you discovered that the fulfilling life God wants for you is hiding behind a present problem, a past failure, or a lifelong fear? Class begins on August 21st

Whether you’re facing family crises, medical diagnoses, relationship troubles, doubts, or fears, you’ll come away encouraged that even though it may not feel that way, you are exactly where Christ wants you to be! “You are children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.” 1 Thessalonians 5:5. Class begins September 12th
