Michael’s Blog | March

Rev. Michael Kinard   -

Hey Forever Young and Friends,

Matthew 6:33-34 33“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Over the last two months, Forever Young – Grow spent time studying the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 5-7. We had a wonderful time together, as we searched the Word and found daily applications for our lives. In the verses above, we are reminded to “seek first the kingdom of God.” We need to have our focus on God and His Righteousness, which is found in and through Christ! When we focus on the right things, then worry, anxiety, etc., begins to fade, because sometimes our worry comes from us and not outside of us. As verse 34 shows us, “do not worry about tomorrow,” our focus is to be on the Kingdom and His Righteousness! I pray this study will continue to be impactful in all of our lives.

I’m looking forward to our March Forever Young – Luncheon. Our guest on this day will be Rodney Graham. He is a wonderful man of God, whom I have known for a very long time. He is the current Senior Adult Pastor at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Easley, SC, (my home church.) Rodney is what we call in ministerial circles the “double threat!” He sings and preaches! You do not want to miss out on the Forever Young Luncheon in March. I know you will be blessed by the LORD!

I do look over the surveys and prayer request each month after the luncheons. So, our March Forever Young – Adventure will be less strenuous and an easier activity. We will be going out to eat. The details will be out soon. Sign up through the Church Center App or by coming by the church office to register. You can also register and pay and at the luncheon if there is available space.

Forever Young – Grow – I’m grateful and appreciate many of you and your willingness to embrace the modifications to how we are doing things. I just found out this week that we have 410 church members who have downloaded and logged into the Church Center App. Of that 410, 213 are 55+ in the age groupings. Therefore, you are over half of the people signed up in Church Center. PTL! Now I know that we are all on the learning curve, but I just wanted to say thank you and you all are amazing for taking this step of modification and advancing into this new way of church communications. If you have not yet gotten on the new church communications platform, Church Center App, do not hesitate to ask me, Madi, or Adam to help. (Sundays are not the best time for Adam as that is a busy production day here at church.)

In Christ’s Love and with our love,

Rev. Michael and Lori Kinard (along with Michaela)
