Rev. Michael Kinard   -

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This verse tells us three things: Relationship, Service, and Peace. “Come to me” is about our relationship with God through Jesus. Jesus invites us to come to Him no matter what is happening in our lives. We know we can always turn to Jesus. The second part of the verse talks about our service. “Who are tired and carrying heavy loads” reminds us that our work can be hard and heavy, not just physically but also mentally and spiritually. So, we need to bring our heavy loads to Jesus. Lastly, when we come to Jesus with our work and worries, we will find peace and rest. So today, pray to the Lord, asking for strength and peace. God will hear your prayer, and you will find peace and rest.

FY Fall Retreat to Bonclarken – Mark your calendars for October 20 – 24! Our Fall Retreat promises to be a wonderful time of fellowship, relaxation, and Bible study. I’m thrilled about this year’s retreat, and I know you will be too. Our speaker will be Rev. Tom Capps from the Three Rivers Baptist Association in Greenville. Tom is an excellent communicator, and you will be blessed by his retreat emphasis: “Encore…Living for the Exclamation Point!” Additionally, Rev. Rodney Graham, the Senior Adult Pastor at Brushy Creek Baptist in Easley, will be leading our music. One night, we will also enjoy a concert by a local singing group from Hendersonville (details to be announced). This is one of those retreats I look forward to every year, and I hope you will join us. Sign up today on Church Center!
